Splunk Dashboard: Application Crypto Inventory

Application-level TLS, cryptographic configuration, and quantum-readiness posture.

Use this dashboard to identify applications using weak protocols, ciphers, key exchanges, or certificates and compare their PQC readiness.

Panels

PanelPurpose
Application PostureIdentifies applications with the highest exposure or lowest quantum readiness.
Preferred AlgorithmsCompares preferred protocols, ciphers, key exchanges, and certificate algorithms.
Weak Configuration FindingsIsolates weak settings that can be remediated independently of broader upgrades.
Application DetailConnects findings to host, process, port, and crypto-library evidence.

Key Data Fields

tychon.application.name, tychon.application.preferred_cipher, tychon.application.preferred_key_exchange, tychon.application.preferred_protocol, tychon.application.quantum_grade.*, tychon.application.quantum_ready, observer.hostname.

Reading the Dashboard

Application Posture

Summarizes application-level crypto posture, including quantum readiness, risk, and the number of crypto-bearing components.

Preferred Algorithms

Shows the protocols, ciphers, key exchanges, and signature choices most commonly reported by applications.

Weak Configuration Findings

Surfaces applications with weak algorithms, vulnerable settings, or missing posture evidence. Treat absent fields as unavailable evidence rather than a pass.

Application Detail

Connects the posture finding to process identity, executable path, host, ports, and crypto library evidence for remediation.

Filtering and Performance

Use the dashboard time range and global filters to narrow the population before interpreting counts. Preserve host, application, platform, algorithm, and risk filters when moving to related dashboards. Aggregations summarize the filtered events; missing optional fields mean that a value was not emitted or observed, not that the condition is false.
